_COUNTRY:
The Real Sporting de Gijon is one of Spain’s top football clubs, applying in the Primera Division of the La Liga. It was officially opened on 1st June 1905, and is based mainly in the city of Gijon. They are often referred to as the Rojiblancos or the Red and Whites.

HOME STADIUM:
The Sporting Gijon football club uses the El Molinon Stadium situated in the city of Gijon-Asturias as their Home Ground. It was opened in the year 1908, is owned by Ayuntamiento de Gijon and has a capacity of 26000 people.

ASSOCIATION:
The Sporting Gijon club is governed and organised by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. It was established in the year 1909, received FIFA affiliation in 1913 and UEFA affiliation in 1954. The President of the association is Angel Maria Villar.

MANAGER:
The present Head Coach & Manager of the Sporting Gijon football club is former Spanish football player Manuel Preciado Rebolledo. He has coached many clubs prior to this, and took over the mantle at Sporting in 2008.

TROPHIES & TITLES:
The Sporting Gijon football club has participated in 36 seasons of the Primera Division of La Liga till date. They were runners-up at the Primera division in the year 1979.

The Club were also Copa del Rey runners-up two times, in 1981 and 1982.

They appeared in 41 seasons of the Segunda Division of the La Liga. They were Champions of the Cup 4 times, in 1943/44, 1956/57, 1969/70 and 1976/77.
