_Mercedes Benz arena is the home stadium of VFB Stuttgart and is located in Stuttgart, Germany. It was named Mercedes Benz arena in July 2008. The crowd capacity of the stadium is about 56000. It also has facilities for track and field events. However plans are being made to renovate the stadium and convert it into an exclusive football stadium by the end of 2009.

The stadium is demarcated into four divisions:
The cannstatt curve where the home fans occupy the seats
The Untertürkheimer Kurve where the guest fans occupy the seats


The stadium has hosted four 1974 FIFA World Cup and six 2006 FIFA World Cup matches. It also hosted two matches of the 1988 UEFA European Championship.

The stadium has also hosted 7 international matches against Switzerland. The stadium has also been host to European athletics Championship and world athletic championship.

Transportation facilities within the city, to the city and to the stadium are very convenient. The city has light rail system called Stuttgart Stadtbahn, regular trams are also available and the bus network is also large. InterCityExpress and InterCity networks connect the city to rest of the Germany and other International destinations like Paris and Zurich.
